Conductance
~ In water conditioning, the readiness of water to carry electricity.
The unit of measure for conductance is the mho (reciprocal ohm); it is
used to approximate the dissolved solids content of water.
Suction head ~ The head on the suction side of the pump. This
is subtracted from the discharge head to determine the head being
produced by the pump. It is a sum of the static, pressure and friction
heads.
N P S H R ~ Net positive suction head required to stop a pump
from cavitating. This number is provided by the pump manufacturer.

Aerator ~ A device screwed into the end of a faucet spout that mixes
air into flowing water, and controls flow to reduce splashing. It
sometimes contains a baffle to reduce flow to 2.5 gpm. On kitchen
faucets, it enables a faucet to provide different flows of water, from
stream to spray.
